If you've been drinking or collecting Napa Valley wines for any length of time,
you know how challenging it's become to find estate grown, single appellation Cabernet Sauvignon without approaching triple digit territory. Whereas regions like Tuscany and the Rhône are replete with big names that can still be found at $75 or less, Napa Valley really makes you work for it when it comes to uncovering those hidden gems. That's not to say there aren't still some terrific 'everyday' wines out there, as great values can be uncovered with some savvy shopping or by finding a winery that's a little off the beaten path. But that's exactly it -- to get a modestly priced bottle from a serious player in the heart of an appellation like Oakville takes some digging ... and a little bit of good fortune. That's what makes this evening's offer so exciting as we've checked every box you could hope for including a price that's easily the best in the country on purchases of 6 or more and less than $50/bottle on a case purchase.Located in one of Napa Valley's prized pockets at the corner of the Silverado Trail and Oakville Cross Road, the 55-acre Rudd Estate is one of the most distinctive properties on the valley floor. Their vineyards are surrounded by names like Dalla Valle, Tench, Bond, Plumpjack & Screaming Eagle and the Rudd Proprietary Red, the pinnacle of the family lineup, has long proven itself to be on par with its highly pedigreed neighbors. To Rudd's credit, however, they also re-introduced a wine in 2016 that offers some of the best value in Oakville with their Crossroads Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers a glimpse of the house style at a fraction of the price the Rudd Proprietary Red commands. Originally produced in the early 2000s from a blend of estate grown and purchased grapes, this new iteration of Crossroads returned in 2016 thanks to Leslie Rudd's daughter, Samantha, who now oversees a Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville and a Sauvignon Blanc from Mount Veeder. Both wines are 100% estate grown and come from organically farmed vineyards owned by the family with the goal being to bottle quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring.
Today we are pleased to offer an exceptional value from an exceptional vintage with the 2016 Rudd Crossroads Cabernet. While this bottle comes strongly recommended at its $75 release, we were fortunate to secure some of the 2016 Crossroads to offer our TCWC mailing list at a price that you simply won't find anywhere else. Kudos to the Rudd family for bottling any awesome Cabernet that is perfect for the upcoming holidays, an ideal case filler for Fall shipments, or even for short term cellaring. Please respond to this email or follow the link below to order on TCWC.com while our quantities remain. The 2016 Rudd Crossroads Cabernet Sauvignon will be arriving later this week and available for local pickup, storage, or shipment across the US this Fall.
