A Note From TCWC --- Shipping & New Orders
As we continue to do our very best in adapting to a new normal due to COVID-19, it's important to stay connected with updates on business hours, delivery options, and adjusted shipping timelines. Last week's state mandated "shelter in place" order has brought significant changes to most business operations in Illinois; however, TCWC is categorized as essential business and we will continue to remain open (and fulfill orders) on an adjusted schedule.
While the TCWC.com website is always open 24/7, our Wood Dale office hours have changed. Curbside pickup will still be available on Mondays and Fridays from 9am-5pm but our doors will otherwise be closed to the public. Our office and warehouse will be lightly staffed in the coming weeks but we are happy to arrange these curbside will calls and we can still be reached by phone during standard business hours.
Local delivery is currently offered to our Chicago clients at a special rate of $15/case. For the immediate future, this courier service will be available on Mondays and Fridays for delivery between 11am-5pm. Expedited deliveries and narrower timeframes may be available at an additional cost. Our couriers always require someone present to receive packages but they have revised their policies to minimize contact at the time of delivery. In lieu of a signature, Visual Proof of Delivery (VPOD) is now acceptable.
While shipping remains suspended for most states due to business closures and logistical challenges, we are still able to ship orders by common carrier to FL, CA, WY, LA, NE, NV and DC. Please ensure that someone over the age of 21 will be present to sign for the wine being delivered to your home or office as we are unable to reroute packages at this time and can not issue refunds for packages returned to TCWC by the carriers. All new orders placed will continue to receive 180 days of free storage in our temperature-controlled warehouse. Extended storage fees, typically billed quarterly, will not be invoiced for any clients during the months of April, May, and June 2020. As always, our goal is to ensure your wines remain in optimal conditions both in storage and in transit and we'll continue to adapt as needed during these unprecedented times.
We realize by now you have received dozens of emails from businesses regarding COVID-19 but we do feel it's important to communicate with you about our plans for navigating this incredibly difficult situation. Internally we have been doing our best to observe the basics (diligent hand washing, social distancing, etc.) and to adjust as advised by the government and health officials, but we anticipate further and more significant changes will be required in the near future.
As of now our Wood Dale offices remain open and fully staffed but in the event we are forced to shut the physical doors to our office and storage warehouse, the virtual doors of our website will continue to be open for business. As always, we will be easily reachable by both email and phone, though we do kindly ask that you leave a message if unable to connect by phone since an immediate response might not always be possible. All members of our team will be accessible by email regardless of the current circumstances and we can still provide the level of customer service you've come to expect from TCWC.
For our clients outside of Illinois:
Starting tomorrow we will be temporarily suspending shipments from our warehouse. While the health and safety of our employees and clients will always be paramount, we also take very seriously our responsibility for keeping your wines in the best conditions possible. With that in mind, and considering the unknown restrictions and limitations that could be imposed at any time (which could alter the timing and locations for delivery), we believe it is best to keep all bottles safe and accounted for in the climate-controlled conditions of our warehouse. This includes those who have already arranged for upcoming delivery during the month of April. With respect to these unforeseen circumstances we will also be waving all storage charges for April, May and June. Once the current situation becomes clearer, we will be in touch with alternative shipping dates. As always, we will continue to offer 180 days of free storage for new purchases going forward.
For our local clients in the Chicago area:
Due to the short time your wine will be on the road, we are still able to use couriers to offer same-day delivery for your bottles and cases and are currently offering a reduced delivery fee of just $15/case. This efficient service is available Monday through Friday during standard business hours and requires someone to be present at your home or office to sign for the order being delivered. Curbside pick-up is also available from our Wood Dale location. Just give us advance notice so that we can prepare your order and then a quick phone call when you arrive so we can easily bring bottles out to you or load cases right into the trunk of your car.
