2006 Chateau Louis St. Emilion (750ml)

"89 out of 100 - Bright red-ruby. Inky black raspberry, spicecake, iron, roasted herbs and cedary oak on the expressive nose. Broad, dry and classic, with noteworthy concentration and energy. A very smooth and rather elegantly styled wine with a restrained sweetness and plenty of personality to its berry, spice and herb flavors. The serious back end features firm, building tannins, very good length and a light touch. I'd give this a couple years in the cellar. (A second bottle, which I rated 89+?, showed a darker, more brooding nose and a tighter, more muscular middle palate, and was more dominated by its structure.) - Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com
