"95 out of 100…The Bila-Haut 2011 Cotes du Roussillon-Villages Lesquerde r.i.– for more about whose sources consult my review in this report of the 2012 – is, like its amazing “v.i.t.” cousin, a wine of amazing girth and grip allied to vibratory energy and salivary gland-milking salinity. Here however we have vivid effects (or what I take to be) of high-elevation granite on Syrah in the form of wafting violet, buddleia and heliotrope floral perfume that mounts from the open glass; billows across the finely-tannic palate for a wave-like enveloping impression; and joins a cast of mineral, carnal, and herbal nuances – pencil lead, roasted red meat, rosemary, carob – in inflecting richly ripe cherry, blackberry, and huckleberry, all prominently and invigoratingly accented by pits and crunchy seeds. I envision this beauty meriting following through 2030." - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate
