"95 out of 100…Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. There is something languid about the nose of Bichot’s outstanding Clos de la Roche Grand Cru ‘11. It does not have the best tension in the peer group tasting of grand cru, yet there is purity and personality: autumn leaves, undergrowth, woodland scents intermixed with briary and red cherries. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. The acidity is nicely judged and the oak neatly interwoven leaving the finish very harmonious and svelte. This is a class act from a grower that deserves much more respect from cognoscenti." - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
