"91 out of 100...As it was when I first reviewed it (see herein), this remains reserved and even recalcitrant with its discreet and quite floral nose of maturing red berry fruit, earth and sauvage hints. There is good power and density to the overtly austere but highly complex medium weight plus flavors that possess plenty of underlying tension on the delicious if entirely serious, persistent and firm finish. This is a very atypical effort within the context of the 2000 vintage because while most examples are drinking perfectly today, the Clos de Vougeot is still very much backwards and developing. While it could be drunk now I would advise holding it for at least another 5 years and perhaps even 7 but it should be worth the wait and it's really quite good." - Burghound
