"94+ out of 100...The 2016 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Wachstum Bodenstein offers a super clear, pure, fresh and flinty-mineral bouquet of crushed stones intermixed with white and crisp stone fruits. On the palate, this is a vibrant, highly finessed and elegant Grüner Veltliner that could be a Riesling as well in the first moments due to its thrilling minerality. Only with aeration, the wine becomes rounder and more lush, but its precision, piquancy, finesse and freshness is remaining. The fruit of this 2016 is perfectly ripe, sweet, rich and greatly interwoven with the structure so that the variety character steps back in favor of the terroir expression. This is a great wine from the Wachau and a pure expression of the bedrock terroir. The finish is enormously long... Tasted July 2017 at the Domaine Wachau in Dürnstein." - Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
