Welschriesling, Trockenbeerenauslese Zwischen den Seen No. 9
International Wine Cellar:
"93 out of 100…Kracher’s 2006 #9 Welschriesling Trockenbeerenauslese Zwischen den Seen smells intensely of pineapple chutney and peach preserves. Oily in texture, viscous, and redolent of honey, nut brittle, and fruit preserves, this finishes with amazingly resonant and juicy variations on pineapple, honey, peach, and salted caramel. Kracher demonstrates this grape’s knack for keeping nearly 300 grams of sugar in the air and engendering reflexive lip-licking without its cause being sticky residues. No doubt this can be held for ten or a dozen years at least." - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate
"96 out of 100...Medium golden-yellow color. Ripe aromas and flavors of juicy peach, apricot jam, hazelnut and marshmallow are perfectly true to the variety. A honeyed quality in the mouth contributes to this very sweet wine's (290 g/l r.s.) satiny, creamy texture, with vibrant, finely chiseled acidity giving it uncanny agility for its extravagant richness. This utterly delicious wine finishes with outstanding persistence and should offer well over two decades of aging potential. - Peter Moser, Vinousmedia.com
