"97 out of 100...Remarkably deep in colour, almost to the verge of being opaque. The nose is very well defined but much more introverted than Fonseca – aloof, stentorian, correct. The palate is full-bodied, beautifully defined, great weight that is channelled in one direction. Brilliant focus here, less extrovert than Fonseca of course but more refined and sophisticated. Certainly this is a Taylors for long-term ageing, one can feel it reserving its energy for 20-years down the line. Great backbone here. Very harmonious towards the finish that really caresses the palate, with a hint of white pepper lingering in the mouth. Wonderful. Tasted May 2009." - Neal Martin, Wine Journal
"(94-97) out of 100...A classic baby Vintage Port nose of blackberry, currant and a little bit of green lemon leaf. Full-bodied and medium sweet. There's a solid core of ripe fruit and powerful tannins, with grip. The real deal." - WS
"(94-96+) out of 100...Cask sample. Not decanted. Enjoyed over four days of blind evaluations. Aromatically, this was a wild ride. Fresh, earthy, dark plum, cassis, peppery, mint chocolate and a light dose of aguardente. By day four there was no spirit protruding and the nose was beautiful and blackcurrants also came into focus. Enormous viscosity here and smooth and rich in the mouth, much more forward than I typically find Taylor Vps at this stage. Balanced and delightful with dominant blackberry and black plum flavors, a smooth mouthfeel and overall symmetry. The tannins were ripe and full, showing the age worthiness of this young Taylor. It is a massively fruited Port with a ton of concentration and a long, persistent finish accompanied by a golden raisin aftertaste. I am not used to this style of young Taylor Vintage Port, however, it's a very drinkable Port today and will cellar with ease for 40 years. 10,000 cases produced (12 x 750s).Cask sample. "95 out of 100...The 2007 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port is a blend of multiple sites meant to express the house style in a great year. It displays a superb aromatic array of pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, blackberry, and floral notes. Dense, suave, and opulent on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, intense, layered wine that has superb grip and concentration. It will effortlessly age for 25+ years and still be delivering pleasure at age 50." - WA
