2007 Chateau Barde Haut, St Emilion (750ml)
Bordeaux (Red)
Wine Advocate: 90-92 Wine Spectator: 88

"(89-92) out of 100...Good ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry, minerals, violet and mint. Suave on entry, then fresh and alive in the middle palate, with noteworthy intensity to the black cherry and licorice flavors. From fruit picked between October 10 and 17-including the merlot-according to Helene Garcin. Finishes subtle, ripe and long, with supple tannins and lively notes of black fruit and minerals. This is very promising." - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"88 out of 100...Offers a wonderful nose, showing chocolate, berry and sweet plum aromas. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a long, subtle, fruity finish. Very refined. Best after 2012. 3,750 cases made." - WS

"(89-91) out of 100...A deep purple hue. A simple but ripe plum and briary scented nose with a touch of tar (NB a second sample had more brightness and fruit intensity.) The palate is full-bodied with perky ripe black fruits, good acidity, very disjointed at the moment but certainly with the balls (sorry Helene) to make a decent burly Saint Emilion after bottling. Good grip, a little furry on the finish on the first bottle, the second sharper and with great precision. This may warrant a higher score after bottling"a dark horse. Tasted April 2008." - Neal Martin, Wine Journal
