"93 out of 100....Charvin's 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out to be one of the vintage's top efforts. Lovely sweet notes of glove leather, roasted meats, spice box, ground pepper, kirsch, and raspberries are present in this deep, full-bodied 2006. More evolved than the 2007, with copious concentration, elegance, and a Burgundy grand cru-like complexity as well as freshness, it should be enjoyed over the next 12-15+ years." - WA
"(93-95) out of 100...Ruby-red. Sexy raspberry, kirsch and graphite aromas are positively room-filling. Bright and sharply focused, with spicy strawberry and raspberry flavors undercut by suave minerality and garrigue The red fruit flavors persist through a very long, silky finish, refusing to let go of the palate. Doesn't have the power of the 2005 but this is more graceful." - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
"94 out of 100...Shows the fresh herb, tobacco and black cherry profile of the vintage, with an undertow of briar and tobacco. The long, sappy finish lets fresh acidity carry the day. This should age nicely, as there's nice dark fruit in reserve as well. Best from 2010 through 2029. 650 cases imported." - WS
