"(85-87) out of 100...The 1997 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is made in a firm, tannic style, with good black cherry fruit, and a dry, Allspice, peppery character. In the mouth, the wine is spice-driven, with medium body, a slight austerity, and a moderately long finish. Although it is not a star of the vintage, it is a very good 1997 Chateauneuf du Pape, but it is firm and backward." - W.A.
